Owoeye Donates to Dame Obaleye Obstetric Fistula Centre of Ilesa OAUTH

24th August 2020 On his 48th birthday, the Speaker Osun House of Assembly, represented by his Chief Protocol Officer, Hon. Johnson Komolafe, presented some office equipments to Dame Olayinka Obaleye Obstetric Fistula Centre of the Wesley Guild, Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ilesa to support the hospital's efforts on fistula prevention, care and rehabilitation.

Recall that when Owoeye attended a programme of the hospital on Obstetric fistula Awareness recently, office equipment like tables, chairs and fans were unavailable. This discovery prompted Owoeye to promise the provision of these vital office materials for the doctors and nurses to enable efficient medical delivery.

The management of the hospital appreciated Timothy Owoeye's donation towards the fight to end obstetric fistula, one of the most serious and tragic injuries that can occur during childbirth which can largely be avoided by delaying the age of first pregnancy; the cessation of harmful traditional practices; and timely access to obstetric care. Unfortunately, the current pandemic affects all these preventive measures in developing countries where obstetric fistula still exists.
