Influx of Foreigners to Idominasi-Ijesa...Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi Holds Security Meeting With Ijesa North Traditional Rulers




 


Traditional rulers and Security Agencies  in Obokun  Local Government  have taken the bull by the horns to avert breach of security and external invasion in their domains by insisting that each community should ensure proper bio-data profiling of their tenants.


The traditional rulers including the Owa Ooye of imesi ile, Owamiran of Esaoke, Alademure of Ibokun,  Owarisa of Ilowa, Alase of Ilase, Aregun of Iregun, Ado Oko of Ido Oko, Onikoka of Koka, Oyebon of Ibontoro, Olupasi of Ipasi, Olomu of Ijaregbe, Onileayo of Ileayo, Owa Afomo of Otan ile, Alada of Ada,  Owalare of Ilare and the Asiwaju of Ijesaland took the decision at a security meeting in Ibokun, as part of proactive steps to allay the fear over the rumored influx of foreigners at Idominasi.




The resolution of the traditional rulers , security agencies and the local government executives,  read by  the Owamiran of Esaoke, Oba Adeyemi Adediran stipulated that all landlords  within the local government should make sure that their tenants filled the "know your neighbors" form to boast intelligence gathering at the grassroots.


The meeting,  however, directed the chiefs of Idominasi led by the Orisa, Chief Ariyo to stay action on allocating land to the Northerners who relocated to their community from Ido- Oko  due to an unresolved impasse with the youth in the area until the migrants were properly profiled.


Earlier, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, the Asiwaju of Ijesaland had informed the attendees that Ijesas both at home and in diaspora had expressed fear over some insinuations in some quarters that their land had been taken over by the dreaded bandits in the guise of traders.


Asiwaju Fasuyi hinted that the meeting was imperative to demystify the air about the rumor because yuletide was fast approaching and that he would not want a situation where by the unfounded information about purported security treat would scare his people away causing a serious economic hardship for the home based .


The leader of the concerned community, Idominasi, High Chief Ariyo agreed to hold on as requested by all the attendees until proper agreement, documentation and profilling of the would be tenants were perfected with the help of Security Agencies and the Local Government.


In an interview, the Chairman, Obokun Local Government, Mr. Ofundipe Moroof lauded the initiative of the traditional rulers describing it as a vital proactive step worthy of emulation across the state.
