There appears to be hope in sight for the College of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Technology (CAFFTECH), Ijeda-Ijesa, Oriade local government, Osun State, founded by Otunba Emiola Ogunsanya after the visit of the officials of the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, last Friday, to explore avenues for revamping the institution's facilities, KAKAKIOODUA reports.
This is coming on the heels of an official assessment of facilities already in place. Some of the facilities inspected include lecture rooms, fish processing unit, feed mill, hatchery department, processing room, fish ponds and smoking Kline.

A 6-member officials of the ministry led by Hajia Hafsat Abdullah of the Federal Department of Fisheries officials were in Osun State on a two-day visit. They had earlier inspected the facilities at the University of Ilesa on Thursday.
Other members of the team included Adedapo Orisaleye Leye. FDF Field officer Osun State, Faith Odianosen, Gbenga Adeniyi, Dr. Babalola Akinwumi (Vet. Doctor) and Adebimpe Adetunji.
In his welcome address, Otunba Emiola Ogunsanya, while soliciting for the assistance of the ministry, highlighted the aims and objectives of the college that took off with 200 students in June 2021, as to empower interested youth with modern agricultural skills, tools, and technology for business growth and sustainability through agricultural empowerment programs. Courses being run by the college include Fish Value Chain amongst others.
"Our our prayer to Federal Department of Fisheries is to collaborate and partner with the college in production of Tilapia and Carp fish seeds to the team population of the country to be raised to table size". Otunba Emiola Ogunsanya said
After the visit of the facilities, Hajia Hafsat Abdullah, expressed worries over the deplorable state of various facilities of the college with its major components in various stages of abandonment.
Hajia Hafsat appreciated the passionate vision of Otunba Emiola Ogunsanya for his people and Nigerians in area of securing food security as she promised to make the report of the visit reach appropriate authority.
