‎Osun Police Nab Suspected Cultists in Gbeja area, Oke-Baale, Osogbo.. Recover Guns, Weapons, Cutlasses, Axe, Live Cartridges

‎The Osun State Police Command says its renewed crackdown on cult activities has led to the arrest of suspected cultists and the recovery of firearms and other dangerous weapons in Osogbo.

‎In a statement, the Command, led by Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Gotan, said detectives from its Anti-Cultism Unit acted on credible intelligence after receiving reports that armed hoodlums, believed to be members of the Eiye confraternity, were terrorising residents of the Gbeja area, Oke-Baale, Osogbo.

‎On sighting the operatives, the suspects reportedly fled their hideout, but a raid of the premises led to the recovery of weapons, including a cut-to-size single-barrel gun, a cut-to-size double-barrel gun, five cutlasses, an axe, and three live cartridges.

‎Police said efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects, led by one Gafari (surname unknown), while those in custody will be charged in court upon conclusion of investigations.
