‎At 11 a.m. the foundation commissioned a new borehole in the Isokun neighbourhood, of Ilesa, an area that has long struggled with access to clean water. Pastor (Dr.) Olatunji Gbotosho, co‑founder of the foundation, led the dedication, recalling his childhood in Isokun when residents had to rise before dawn to fetch water from distant streams. “When I was a child we woke up early to fetch _omi‑oko_,” he said

‎Pastor Adekunle Joseph offered the opening prayer, emphasizing the spiritual dimension of the project: “When I am hungry you gave me food, when I am thirsty you gave me water. . “Seeing this borehole today reminds us that the OKG Foundation is doing the will of God by giving water to the thirsty. Let us continue to share what we have and give our lives to Christ.” He said

‎High Chief Adebayo Ilesanmi, the Leemi Onisokun of Isokun, pledged the community’s commitment to maintain the borehole and promised a proper maintenance culture.

‎Following the commissioning, the OKG team proceeded to the Ilesa Social Elite, Isokun, where the main outreach programme began at 12 noon. The afternoon featured four core components:

‎The event took on a revival atmosphere as the programme opened with a powerful worship set led by the Levite Group, joined by the RCCG choir. Pastor Kikelomo Gbotosho then outlined the foundation’s achievements over the past decade, including skill‑based empowerment, grants and interest‑free loans. She also described a “drive‑around” in which the Foundation handed out tickets to petty traders selling roasted corn, plantain, oranges, groundnuts an so on, inviting them to the empowerment fair.

‎She also remarked on infrastructure projects: a borehole at Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa, and another opposite the OKG office in Isokun, as well as assistance for the hospital’s theatre and aid for patients.

‎A highlight was a performance by the Osun State Cultural Troupe, followed by an exhortation from Pastor Dr. Olatunji Gbadebo. He recounted his experience assisting victims of a motor accident on the Ife‑Ibadan road, praising a youthful Samaritan who stopped to help while many, including a politician’s convoy, drove past. The Samaritan was called forward, prayed for, and gifted N250,000.

‎Special prayers were offered by Ven. Dr. Biodun Fatokun of St. Peter Anglican Church, Erinmo‑Ijesa, who testified that OKG had helped his church after a storm damaged its roof.

‎Mr. Kehinde Alake, Director of the OKG Foundation, delivered remarks marking the 9th edition of the outreach, thanking founders, guests, families and volunteers.

Pastor Mrs. Kikelomo Gbotosho singled out Mr. Kehinde Alake, Mr. and Mrs. Femi Otunla, the Ayomaya family, Mr. Wole Gbotosho and others for their logistical support.

‎The evening concluded with a light‑hearted reenactment of the Methodist High School and Ilesa Grammar School anthems, led by Pastor Mrs. Kikelomo Gbotosho (Methodist High alumna) and Pastor Dr. Olatunji Gbotosho (Ilesa Grammar alumnus), each joined by former classmates before the Christmas food packs were distributed to the vulnerable, and agricultural equipment was provided to farmers.

‎The OKG Foundation’s Christmas Community Welfare Outreach continues to blend spiritual revival with tangible assistance, reinforcing its mission to “share love and extend helping hands to the needy” across Ilesa and beyond.
