“Ere la n fomo ayo se” popular Yoruba saying that translates to "Ayo Olopon game is meant just for entertainment came to play on Saturday at the Day 2 of the platinum anniversary celebration of Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, first Asiwaju of ljesaland as all the 24 who registered and participated at the competition organized and hosted by the Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi’s 70th birthday celebration's organizing committee received cash prizes at the Seyi Lufadeju Clubhouse Hall of the Ijesa Felates Club, Ilesa where prizes doled out in the Ayo Olopon competition.

The celebrant who arrived at the hall filled with enthusiastic lovers of Ayo Olopon game; trustees and members of the Felates Club; invited guests and some well-wishers who came to the serene location of the clubhouse just to catch a glimpse of him and congratulate him, described the cultural Ayo Olopon usually played by old people in the past, which only two persons sitting face to face could play at a time with the seeded game board at their center while surrounded by spectators and players waiting for their turns to play, as a unifying factor among the Ijesas and the Yorubas in general based on the types of jokes and banters that usually associated with the game. But for the wisdom and perseverance of elders, fighting would be prevented by them with a common saying that "Ere la n fomo ayo se”
Also electrifying was the cheerful entrance of Yeye Asiwaju Dr Olubisi Fasuyi who went round to encourage all the players jokingly.
Speaking on to the first twelve to be eliminated from the competition Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi pinpointed the importance of the spirit of competitive endeavors, "If there are no losers, there couldn't be a winner" he said as he encouraged them and gave them the assurance that all the participants would go home with consolation prizes.

The atmosphere was electric, with a sense of camaraderie and mutual respect among the contestants, as the scene unfolds with an air of excitement and anticipation. Soft Ebenezer Obey's music, undoubtedly the celebrant's favorite wafted through the air, its gentle melody perfectly calibrated to fuel the contestants' nerves and creativity. Meanwhile, light refreshments consisting of akara balls and Kango Irojo were served with freshly tapped palm wine filling the cups of guests and well-wishers, a touch of warmth and hospitality to the event, putting everyone at ease as the competition heats up, the tension builds, and the audience's enthusiasm is noticable.
At the end of the competition consisting of three stages of eliminations, which took more than two hours duration, Mr Moyin Oyebode from Omofe community emerged as the winner. Mr Ramoni Owoeye from Omofe quarters secured second place, while Mr Fapounda of Ayeso area finished third.
The Director General of the Ijesa Felates Club, Dr. Biodun Ogunbeku took the floor to present the trustees, executive and members of the Club present, some with their wives as a wife of a member is considered an automatic associate member according to the constitution of the Club.
A trustee of the Ijesa Felates Club, Professor Rotimi Tayo, lauded the philanthropist spirit evident in Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi and Yeye Asiwaju Dr Olubisi Fasuyi's generosity and commitment to Ijesaland’s development labelling the wife as a woman of substance.
In attendance were members of the Ijesa Community Development Assembly, Lady Dupe Ajayi-Gbadebo, Yeyerise Chief Hannah Ojo and Isogba, members of Ijesa Sports Club, Ijesa Youth Forum, Egbe Atunluse, Egbe Ajirowa Obinrin Adimula ile Ijesa, Holy Trinity Cathedral Omofe, yeye lobirin, family and friends of the celebrant.
