ICDA Appoints Wale Idowu as IDF Chairman, Expands Management Team

The Board of Trustees of the Ijesa Community Development Assembly (ICDA) has confirmed Alagba Wale Idowu as the substantive Chairman of the Ijesaland Development Fund (IDF), in a move aimed at strengthening leadership and enhancing institutional performance.

The decision was reached during the ICDA’s first quarter meeting held on March 27, 2026, at the Ilesa residence of the Asiwaju of Ijesaland and ICDA Chairman, Olayinka Fasuyi.

The meeting, described as a strategic gathering focused on institutional consolidation and future development, highlighted the need to reposition the IDF as a more performance-driven and sustainability-focused arm of the ICDA.

In a unanimous resolution, the Board approved Idowu’s appointment, citing his experience, track record, and commitment to the development of Ijesaland. The Board expressed confidence in his ability to provide visionary leadership, strengthen stakeholder trust, and drive impactful development initiatives.

As part of efforts to ensure accountability and operational efficiency, the Board also introduced an 11-point monthly deliverables framework for the IDF. The framework includes regular reporting on financial contributions, membership growth, project execution, budget utilisation, and performance tracking across the six local government areas in Ijesaland.

The ICDA noted that the framework would serve as a performance management tool designed to promote transparency, continuous monitoring, and measurable outcomes.

In addition, the Board approved the expansion of the IDF management team to enhance coordination and execution of development programmes. Newly appointed members, Ms. Folasade Ilori and Gbenga Awomolo, will join the existing team led by Idowu.

Other members of the management team include Dr. Prince Toyin Olalemi (Secretary), Chief Akin Olatunbosun (Accountant), Chief Mrs. Yemisi Falope (Women Coordinator), and Mr. Bukola Fadipe (Youth Mobilisation and Publicity Coordinator).

According to the Board, the expansion is aimed at strengthening governance structures, improving programme delivery, and deepening stakeholder engagement across Ijesaland.

The ICDA also confirmed the establishment of an operational office with permanent staff to handle its day-to-day activities, noting that the office will be managed by the IDF team to ensure professionalism and efficiency.

The Board reiterated that the IDF will function as the economic and sustainability arm of the ICDA, with a mandate to mobilise resources, implement development projects, and drive socio-economic growth across the region.

It further directed that the IDF management team, through its chairman, will provide regular reports to the Board and publish monthly performance updates to ensure transparency and accountability.

The resolutions, which took immediate effect from March 27, 2026, mark a significant step in the ICDA’s efforts to strengthen institutional capacity and promote sustainable development in Ijesaland.

The statement was jointly signed by ICDA Chairman, Olayinka Fasuyi, and the ICDA Secretary, Prince (Rev.) Lowo Adebiyi.
