The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has received a petition accusing the Osun State Government and some of its officials of alleged involvement in a multi-billion naira payroll fraud.
According to documents submitted to the anti-graft agency, the petition was filed on behalf of Sally Tibbot Consulting Nigeria Limited by its legal representatives. The firm alleged that state officials engaged in acts of aiding and abetting payroll fraud, conspiracy, stealing, conversion, and money laundering linked to salary and pension payments.
The petition claims that the alleged fraud involves a yearly sum of over N13.7 billion, tied to monthly salary and pension disbursements for public service workers and retirees in the state. It further accused the officials of attempting to cover up the alleged irregularities, acting as accessories after the fact.
The consulting firm, represented by its Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Sa’adat A. Bakrin-Ottun, stated that the claims were based on information believed to be credible and urged the EFCC to conduct a thorough investigation.
A receipt issued by the EFCC confirmed that the petition was officially submitted and acknowledged on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at about 10:50 a.m., with a designated petition number for reference.
As of the time of filing this report, the Osun State Government has not issued an official response to the allegations.
