A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Atakumosa West Local Government Area, Oluwole Komolafe, has embarked on a series of visits to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) centres across wards in the Ijesa South Federal Constituency, as part of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.

‎Komolafe, an aspirant seeking to represent the constituency in the House of Representatives, monitored the registration process at various ward centres where eligible residents are undergoing biometric capture.

‎The ward-level registration exercise, which commenced on April 9, 2026, is part of INEC’s final phase of the CVR in Osun State. The initiative aims to decentralise voter registration by bringing the process closer to grassroots communities ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.

According to INEC, the exercise is designed to enhance inclusivity, improve service delivery, and ensure that all eligible citizens are given the opportunity to register seamlessly before the Osun State Governorship Election 2026 scheduled for August 15, 2026.

‎During his visits on Friday, Komolafe expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise and used the opportunity to mobilise support for increased participation. He urged eligible citizens, especially first-time voters and those seeking to update their voter information, to take advantage of the exercise.

‎He also called on APC leaders and stakeholders to intensify grassroots mobilisation efforts to ensure maximum turnout, noting that robust voter participation is critical to the success of the party’s candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, in the forthcoming election.

‎INEC confirmed that the ward-level CVR exercise will run for 10 days, including weekends, and is expected to conclude on April 18, 2026. Eligible voters are utilising the exercise to register for Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), request transfers, and update their personal records.

‎The development signals the build-up to a closely watched electoral process in Osun State, with stakeholders focusing on voter mobilisation and transparency as key components of a credible election.
