Osun APC Knocks Adeleke Over ‘Unfulfilled Promises,’ Raises Concerns on OSBC Workers

Osogbo, Osun State – April 30, 2026

‎The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has launched a fresh attack on Governor Ademola Adeleke, accusing his administration of failing to fulfill key promises and alleging that the development could cost him re-election in the forthcoming August 15, 2026 governorship poll.

‎In a press statement issued on Thursday, the party’s Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, criticized the governor over what it described as “a pattern of unfulfilled commitments,” particularly referencing the alleged delay in regularising the appointments of 66 freelance workers at the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation.

‎According to the APC, the governor had, about 23 months ago, announced plans to convert the affected workers to permanent staff, a promise the party claims has yet to be fulfilled.

‎The opposition party also accused the governor of making what it termed “politically motivated declarations,” citing a recent visit to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital where he reportedly assured casual health workers of employment regularisation.

‎The APC described the move as inappropriate and questioned the timing and setting of such announcements, alleging that they were aimed at gaining political advantage ahead of the elections.

‎The statement further urged residents of the state to reject the governor at the polls, arguing that his administration has not delivered sufficiently on its promises.

‎The party also expressed confidence in its governorship candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, describing him as experienced and capable of providing what it termed “needed transformation” for the state.

‎The APC’s remarks come amid increasing political activities in Osun State as parties intensify campaigns ahead of the governorship election.

‎As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from the state government regarding the allegations raised by the opposition party.
