IDC Calls for Memoranda, Research Inputs to Drive Ijesaland Economic Development Plan
Fasuyi made the appeal in a statement dated October 27, 2026, in response to the IDC's call for memoranda, research findings and development proposals to support the formulation of the Ijesaland Economic Development Plan (IEDP).
He commended the leadership and management of the IDC for what he described as their vision and foresight in conceiving a comprehensive development agenda aimed at repositioning Ijesaland as a model of community-driven development.
According to him, the initiative presents an important opportunity for Ijesa sons and daughters to contribute ideas, expertise and practical solutions towards the socio-economic transformation of their homeland.
The ICDA chairman specifically urged members of the Assembly to embrace the initiative and participate actively in identifying development opportunities and proposing interventions that would benefit communities across the six Local Government Areas of Ijesaland.
He stressed that the development of Ijesaland remained a collective responsibility requiring the commitment and contributions of individuals, community organisations, professional groups and other stakeholders.
Fasuyi encouraged well-meaning Ijesa people to submit innovative ideas, actionable proposals, constructive advice and other meaningful contributions that could enrich the development plan and support its successful implementation.
He expressed optimism that sustained collaboration among stakeholders would help translate the IDC's vision into tangible development outcomes, improve the well-being of residents and secure a better future for generations to come.
The Asiwaju of Ijesaland also directed interested ICDA members and other stakeholders to consult the IDC's official notice dated October 16, 2026, for details of the submission procedures and requirements.
The IDC's call invites submissions covering key areas such as infrastructure development, agriculture and agro-processing, industrialisation, commercial enterprise, education, technical skills, healthcare, urban development, cultural preservation and eco-tourism.
Submissions are expected to contribute to the evidence-based assessment of Ijesaland's development challenges, economic assets and investment opportunities, with relevant findings to inform the proposed development baseline and other planning documents.
The submission deadline announced by the IDC is November 15, 2026. Contributions may be sent electronically to [email protected] or delivered in hard copy to the Iwude Ijesa Secretariat, Ilesa, Osun State.
Fasuyi concluded his appeal with prayers for the continued progress of the ICDA, the IDC and Ijesaland, expressing confidence in the capacity of collective action to advance the development aspirations of the Ijesa people.
The statement was signed by Chief Olayinka Fasuyi, Asiwaju of Ijesaland and Chairman of the ICDA, at Oke Baba Okuta Villa, Ilesa, on October 27, 2026.
