‎Osun APC Condemns Aderogba's Killing, Calls for Full Police Investigation, Faults Adeleke's Reaction ‎

‎The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the killing of an Esa-Oke indigene, Ajayi Busayo Aderogba, describing the incident as tragic, condemnable, and deeply disturbing.

‎In a statement issued on Wednesday by the party's Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, the APC called on security agencies, particularly the Nigeria Police Force, to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding Aderogba's death and ensure that anyone found culpable is brought to justice.

‎According to the opposition party, the sanctity of human life must be protected at all times, stressing that the constitutional right to life remains fundamental and inviolable.

‎The party noted that only a thorough police investigation could establish the true circumstances surrounding the controversial death and address the growing speculations and allegations that have emerged following the incident.

‎While expressing sympathy to the family, friends, and associates of the deceased, the APC also criticized Governor Ademola Adeleke over comments made in reaction to the incident.

‎The party accused the governor of making premature allegations against its members and leaders before the conclusion of police investigations, describing such remarks as hasty and potentially capable of escalating political tensions within the state.

‎The APC argued that criminal investigations remain the constitutional responsibility of law enforcement agencies and urged political leaders to allow security authorities to carry out their duties without interference or prejudgment.

‎The party further appealed to the Inspector-General of Police to ensure that the matter is professionally handled and that all stakeholders exercise restraint to prevent any breakdown of law and order.

‎According to the statement, the APC maintained that it remains committed to peaceful political engagement and rejected any association with violence or acts capable of disrupting public peace.

‎The party also defended its leadership, including former Osun State Governor and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, APC governorship candidate Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), Director-General of the AMBO Campaign Council, Hon. Wole Oke, and other party leaders, describing them as advocates of peace and democratic values.

‎The APC urged Governor Adeleke and other political actors to avoid inflammatory statements and allow due process to take its course, especially as preparations intensify ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election in Osun State.

‎The party concluded by praying for strength and comfort for the bereaved family as they mourn the loss of their loved one.
