Owoeye Urges Students in the State to Study Hard to Excel in Their Education Pursuit

Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly , Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye  has urged students in the state to study hard to excel in their education pursuit.

Rt. Hon. Owoeye made this known in Ilesa on Saturday, 1st February, 2020, during a short test conducted for students who are to benefit from a free Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms exercise , sponsored by Timothy Owoeye Foundation.

The speaker , represented by his Chief of Staff , Hon Obisesan Olasunkanmi urged students in the State to  shun examination malpractices and other forms of sharp practices.

The lawmaker, who represents Ilesa East State constituency in the state House of Assembly and who is the 5th Speaker of the 7th State of Osun House of Assembly, said the idea of procuring the JAMB forms for the students under his empowerment foundation was towards building human capacity, and to ease the burden of parents and guardians.

Rt. Hon.Owoeye, therefore pledged to  continue supporting education of the entire students of the state through his foundation.

While speaking with journalists shortly after the test, the principal Ilesa Government High School who supervised the test, Mr Adepoju Sunday, expressed satisfaction on the conduct of the candidates, urging Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye not to relent in giving back to the society.

He said the test would encourage seriousness and heathy rivalry for excellence among students, adding that nothing is wrong with the standard of education in Osun.

On his part , a parent at the venue of the test , Mr Aiku Johnson appreciated the philanthropic gesture of Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, saying empowerment goes beyond distributions of grinding machines, gas cookers, refrigerators, bags of rice, Semo, chicken, and motorcycles popularly known as 'Okada' .

Mr Aiku observed that Nigeria can become great again when people have access to sound education, and have their future moulded by a responsive and responsible government,   well meaning individuals and nongovernmental organizations.

According to him, empowering the children of  the less privileged  parents, in the area of education, remains the best.

Meanwhile, over four hundred students took part in the test , held at Ilesa Government High School, Ilesa.
